Lee and Russell County Rural Planning Organization
RPO Purpose:
Rural Planning Organizations are designed to help facilitate communication between local rural governments and the Alabama Department of Transportation and allow input from rural areas into ALDOT’s decision making process. The goals of the RPO are:
- A well managed planning process
- An effective transportation committee structure
- A comprehensive data library and distribution source
- Reports that are useful to the ALDOT
- A well informed public who actively participates in the rural transportation planning process.

Meetings
The Citizens Advisory Committee will meet on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 10:00 am CST. A joint meeting of the Policy and Technical Committees will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 3:00 pm CST. Both meetings will be held in the Conference Room of Lee Russell Council of Governments at 2207 Gateway Drive in Opelika.
